Guwahati: Although six of the seven countries in the northeast experienced a rainy deficit since the start of the rainy season two months ago, IMD said on Tuesday that very heavy rain would destroy this region.
Hotspot Tourist Cherrapunji, is likely to receive maximum rain, although 27% of rainfall deficits have been recorded in Meghalaya since June 1 to Tuesday, Manipur has a 58% high rainfall deficit in the region.
“In the next three to four days, heavy rain until very heavy rainfall with very heavy rainfall is estimated in the northeast, especially in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya,” said Sunit Das, a senior scientist at the center of regional meteorology, IMD.
The Met office says light to moderate rain or the goal that tends to occur in many places in the northeast in the next five days.
DAS connects changes in weather conditions with a rainy season shift along the legs of the Himalayar’s feet.
Also, he added that because of a large-scale moisture attack from Bengal Bay due to strong western winds at a lower level of atmosphere, there is a possibility of quite a lot of rainfall.
The rainfall deficit in Arunachal Pradesh since June 1, has been 36%, followed by Meghalaya (-27%) and Nagaland (-25%).
The shortcomings in Assam and Mizoram have been 22% in every state.
Although Tripura also recorded a 19% deficit during that period, it was still considered in the normal range according to meteorological calculations.
