Not a clean ban, bat experts for online tests to check cheating

Jaipur: Turning off cellular internet services during the government recruitment test to prevent fraud has produced a slight result even when the shutdown causes large-scale disorders in digital communication.
A series of incidents during reet recruitment examination and recently demonstrated that the Mafia cheating countries are advanced using bluetooth that supports inner, sandals and small call devices to focus on the recruitment process.
Elsewhere, Dummy candidates are surrounded from the centers, raising questions about gaping holes in security.
Many experts and officials told Ti that the inspection agent had to consider bluetooth jammers, artificial intelligence (AI) which supported and online tests that could make smooth processes and get rid of unfair practices including proxy candidates.
The former DG Kapil Garg believes that the online exam process can instill greater transparency in the process.
“There are many benefits of online-based tests.
For example, the question papers are uploaded only when students enter their accounts.
There are no other people who can access certain paper besides students.
Also, there are AI tools that can scan if there is inconsistency at a certain center,” he said .
The state has experimented with online testing for the first time during the police recruitment test in 2018, but immediately canceled after an investigating agent destroyed the cheating gang which tried to overcome the test.
After 2018, the authorities got cold legs and left online tests once for all.
However, some officials believe that the government must now look beyond the experience of 2018.
“Exams pens and paper-based are far more susceptible to fraud compared to online tests.
For example, during online tests, the question paper will be decrypted only when the exam starts.
Some of the question papers can Used so that no student anticipates knowing which paper he will get, “said an official, added that several examinations carried out by central government institutions have managed to move to the online test now.
“If the central government can conduct an online exam, then why can’t we do it here at Rajasthan.
If there is a monkey business at a certain center, it will not affect the overall process,” said an official.
Meanwhile, the cyber expert Mukesh Choudhary said the internet shutdown could not put the sidewalk in cheating.
“Various Bluetooth devices, hidden in clothing or ears, can be extended to 40 meters.
Therefore, Jammers Bluetooth is also needed,” he said.
Choudhary also said that if Jammers cannot be placed, then the tributors need to be trained to use the scanner to identify active Bluetooth devices.
“I also believe that strict regulations and monitoring processes must be accommodated to conduct online tests for transparency and minimize fraud,” he added.
