Nagpur: When the market is flooded with the milk brand that claims to be a customary cow, there is one company that banks on the herd of cattle Friesian Holstein.
Indian cow’s milk, also nicknamed as type A2, is being sold in today’s premium segment at a price of Rs80 to more than RS100 per liter.
Raipur’s Sarda Dairy and Food Products Limited (SDFPL), which markets the brand of milk and Vachan side products, plans to enter the same niche segment as Holstein cow’s milk.
SDFPL Brand ‘Farm Classic’ is expected to be launched in Nagpur immediately and will target niche consumers.
The package will have a white and black Holstein cow image that indicates this type.
A number of A2 milk vendors also placed the image of the cow gear, indigenous types, on the package.
Lately, the milk unit in Nagpur launches the brand of cow’s milk Desi with a picture of Cow’s gear, even though it doesn’t claim it’s a2.
Cow milk Desi has become the latest trend on the market.
There are groups that recommend consumption of A2 milk which claims to have health benefits due to A1 milk which is said to be a foreign breed.
This causes focus on cows with groups that encourage it as an alternative to other breeds such as Holstein or Jersey.
However, it has also been clarified that A1 milk is not harmful.
SDFPL can be said to be the only organized milk player in the region has his own livestock.
Pankaj Sarda, Director of the Association of SDFPL, said that he was sure of the brand and hoping that it would produce a good response in the Nagpur market.
There are plans to start with 10,000 liters of milk for the Nagpur market.
Sarda said, “Our USP is a scientific method of dairy farm.
The whole process of milking into the packaging is not touched by the human hand.” Sarda claims that livestock health is regularly examined by a veterinary team to ensure that even milk is healthy.
He said rather than breeding their focus would be in milk quality in terms of cleanliness and other parameters.
“Apart from all theories about ASI A1 or A2, we are proud of Holstein Breed maintained by SDFPL,” said Sarda.
SDFPL maintains 2,000 livestock livestock and during the lean season, milk output touches up to 15,000 liters.
In the flush season it is more than double.
Milk is also obtained from farmers.
Sarda said that livestock had been purchased from farmers in South India.
Sarda said the company was also optimistic about the Nagpur market for other products.
“With Nagpur at a distance of 290 km from Raipur, fresh milk can be easily transported.
Markets in other centers such as Bhandara, Chandrapur, Amravati and Gondia can also be tapped,” he said.
