Ottawa: Not enough Canadian children were being vaccinated against Covid-19 when the Omicron variant spread rapidly threatening the health care system, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Wednesday.
Official data shows that on January 1 87.6% of Canada above the age of 12 has received two shots.
But among those aged 5 to 12 years, the number dipped only 2%, with 45.6% received a dose.

we need to get more, so please ask your parents whether you can be vaccinated,” Trudeau said, handling children directly during regular briefing .
Schools in Ontario and Quebec Province, who jointly accounted for around 61% of the total Canadian population of 38.4 million, taught virtually, but children will return to the classroom later this month.
Last week Trudeau said Canadians were angry and frustrated by people who were not vaccinated, but on Wednesday he returned to his tactics who were more familiar because they were reluctant.
