Not metro in Amravati Road, but 2 flyovers

Nagpur: Skyline along Amravati Road will change because the State Public Works Department (PWD) has planned two elevants, with a combined length of 4.75km, in two stretches.
However, this will seal the chances of a fast transit system, especially Metro rails, on this busy road for at least upcoming.
Although officials and experts have negated the need to have a fast transit system on Jalan Amravati, citing the Metro Rail corridor in Hingna Road, Mahametro has not considered the link corridor to connect Jalan Amravati to the Metro Sitabuldi-Local route in Phase-II regardless of the suggestion consultant.
The National Highway Division PWD has given RS314 crore contracts for the Twin flyover and the concreteness of the road below for T and T Infra Limited Pune, which has started testing soil.
Amravati Road starts from the commercial center of City – Sitabuldi – from Variety Square and ends at Wadi Octroi Check Post.

“Two flyovers will make it easier for traffic congestion and also remove black spots at Law College Square, Ravi Nagar Square, Bharat Nagar Square, T-Point Telanghedi and stretching from Wadi Gurdwara to the Gate,” Borkar said.
PWD has claimed to have consulted Mahametro before planning the two kites, which was rejected by an Mahametro official.
Funds for the project have been approved under the Central Road Fund (CRF), through the ministry headed by the Nitin Gadkari minister.
Commissioner of the city of Radhakrishnan B also has a need for a quick transit system in Amravati Road.
“PWD never consulted NMC before planning this flyover.
Every government institution must ask for the opinion of the Civic Agency before planning anything within the city’s limits.
But there seems to be no problem with the construction of two fly as and it will be good for city mobility,” he said.
A Mahametro official said there was no corridor proposed on Jalan Amravati and may not be needed in the future too.
“Consultants have suggested corridor links to connect Amravati Road with Aqualine, but the same thing has not been considered in phase-II,” he said.
Initially, the consultant had suggested a corridor link from the Metro Nagar Vasudeo train station to Wadi using the abandoned railway line.
But it requires MIDC land and also from the weaponry factory, then the consultant then suggests the corridor link on the road 4 km which connects MIDC Hingna T-toint with Rahul Hotel Square in Dattawadi.
Parag Urban Planning Expert Dating said, “It will not be feasible to build the Metro Rail on Jalan Amravati, especially when the corridor has been operating on the North Ambazari road.
Mahametro must take advantage of the road connecting MIDC Hingna T-toint with Rahul Hotel Square in Dattawadi for Link Corridor Because this does not require a lot of land acquisition.
“This will not only help people from Wadi, Dattawadi and a side by side, but also hundreds of workers engaged in the factory in MIDC Hingna, he said.
Likewise, a series of flyovers have been built in the Koradi Road to remove the scope to have a fast transit system on this national highway connecting Saeroner to Madhya Pradesh.
Flyover Twin is also proposed on Jalan Umred.
Metro Rail includes major highways such as Wardha Road, Bhandara Road, Kampee Road and Hingna Road.
Whatever infrastructure activities that must be taken must begin only after the right planning, or the value of the utility from the same reduction as happened in the case of the Chhatrapati Square Flyover in Wardha Road, which was destroyed after several years.
Also, another proposal is in the work to drop the flyover located in front of the main train station.
