Not registered with the Paramedic Board, MD Pathology is served by closing notification

Nagpur: Dr.
Pankaj Saklinwar is MD in pathology and runs a diagnostic laboratory at Gadchiroli.
On July 5, he received notification from Tehsildar which said legal action would begin with his laboratory if he failed to register with the Maharashtra Paramedic Board (MPC).
Dr.
Saklinwar was surprised to see the notification because he was more qualified than the paramedics and had been registered with Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
“I have run my lab for 5 years.
This notice has been surprising.
My qualification is MBBS and MD.
I have a MMC registration number.
Legally, I was allowed to run a diagnostic laboratory.
How a doctor registered with MMC produces registration from the paramedic board ? “Wondering Dr.
Saklinwar.
Dr.
Sandeep Yadav, President, Maharashtra Association practiced Pathology and Microbiologist (MAPPM), called ‘Bizzare’ notification.
He said the association would protest such steps.
“MPC is for Lab Technicians, but Dr.
Saklinwar is our member because he is a qualified pathologist.
It is like serving notification of closing to the hospital because the doctor does not have registration of the nursing council,” he said.
Such notifications are presented for several MAAPPM members in Maharashtra, either because of the lack of awareness of law or with the intention of harassing quality pathologists.
“One such notice is served in June.
The doctor has sent their MMC registration documents in return.
The Babus Government sends similar notifications unacceptable,” said Dr.
Yadav.
This association has claimed that only the MD pathology doctor who was authorized to run a pathology laboratory in Maharashtra in accordance with the Commandment of the Supreme Court (2017).
Pathology experts Diploma holders and certificates are considered technicians and they can work in the lab but cannot sign a report.
Many laboratories in Vidarbha are run by technicians who do not meet the requirements.
Tate must take action against them.
“Instead of taking action against illegitimate laboratories, the state and administrative district government serves notification to a unfortunate qualified doctor,” added Dr.
Yadav.
There are no officials from the Gadchiroli District Administration available for comments.
