New Delhi / Jammu: The famous Dogri writer Padma Sachdev, who also wrote the lyrics for Hindi films such as Prem Parbat and Aankhin Dekhi in the 1970s, died in Mumbai on Wednesday.
He is 81 years old.
“He is a Bard for Dogri.
He converts and rewrote the Oral Dogri literature to issue classic splendor in inter-textual ways.
He wrote extraordinary prose, turning on life into a language.
He is a polyglot who also wrote in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi, “said Hindi Anamika.
Sachdev received the Sahitya Academy award for his work, ‘Meri Kavita Mere Geet’, in 1969.
In the introduction of the book, the poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar wrote, “After reading Padma’s poem, I felt I had to throw my pen – for what Padma was written was True poetry.
“He also excel in writing memoir.
“His autobiography, ‘Boond Bawadi’, is a classic.
Other books, in BIN (without them) view the world of domestic aid,” said friend and writer Mamta Kalia.
Anamics shows that the writing of Sachdev in Ismat Chugtai, Lata Mangeshkar and Dharamvir Bharti is a large mix of ‘talk stories’, criticism, and memoir, everything is brilliant.
“I also remember clearly one of his short stories about taxi drivers published in Dharmyug in the 1970s.
The experience of the taxi driver with his passenger and how he told him to his family at night – the story left my impression on me,” he said.
Sachdev formed a close relationship with Mangeshkar, who sang his songs, ‘Mera Chhota Sa Ghar Baar’ and ‘Yeh Neer Kahan Se Barse’ in fellow Dogri-Director Ved Rahi’s Prem Parbat (1973).
In 1977, he comples Mangeshkar concerts in the US and Canada.
Mangeshkar and Sachdev collaborated to release music albums from Dogri songs, the first in languages.
Even today they remain favorites with Dogri speakers.
He also wrote the lyrics for Aankhin Dekhi (1978) directed by Urdu Author Rajinder Singh Bedi.
‘Sona Re Tujhe Kaise Million’ is one of the more numbers remembered from the film.
Some other works include ‘Tawi Te Chanhan,’ ‘Nherian Excavation’, ‘Pota Nimbal,’ Uttar Vahini ‘and’ Tainthian.
Born in Purmandal Village from Samba Jammudal District, Sachdev was the eldest of three Bachelor of Sanskrit Jai Sharma who died during the partition.
He “made into the world of literature.
When his first poem was carried out by local everyday in 1955, he had to bribe his sister not to show ‘anger’ to their mother,” Profile said by Sahitya Academy in 1996.
He worked as Radio announcer in Jammu.
His first marriage with ‘rebels’ poet Ved Pal Deep ‘failed to work’, profile said.
Then he married singer singer Singh from Singh Bandhu Fames.
Of all accounts, the poets personified Joie de Vivre.
