Pune: Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) recorded 69 new cases of mukormycosis related covid (cam) and 13 victims between August 1 and August 25.
Of these, 25 newly registered cases last week.
The doctor who cared for these patients said that most of them were being referred to the hospital in Pune from neighboring districts.
“Of the 25 cases recorded last week, 17 came from the Sassoon Hospital managed by the state.
Hospital at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) boundaries and parts of the countryside reported four cases each during the same period,” said the latest report from district administration.
Doctor Sassoon Hospital has confirmed that 95% of new cases treated at the facility are called from various district side by side – Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli, Ahmednagar, and even Beed and Osmanabad.
“Only 5% of the case of fresh cam comes from pune now.
As many as 95% are cases referenced,” said the Samir Joshi surgeon.
Joshi is the Head of the Department and Professor of ENT in Sassoon.
In addition to new cases, a large number of old patients faced recurrent days or months after recovery.
A large number of these patients require recurrent surgical permissions (debridemen) even in areas such as the frontal sinus, where recurrence should not occur.
This shows incomplete permits from damaged networks during the first operation, experts say.
“His recurrence is a rule than the exception in mukormycosis.
At present, the incidence of patients recovered that requires a high revision operation,” Joshi said.
The usual follow-up of patients after surgical management is key.
The presence of rampant diabetes among individuals affected increases the possibility of recurrence.
Zero recurrence for six months can be safely referred to as a full recovery of mukormycosis, experts say.
“Cas’s new cases have significantly dropped in private hospitals for the past two months,” said the Tht Rajeev Yande surgeon.
