Hyderabad: The intense lobby is ongoing for seven empty seats in the Legislative Council of the State of Telangana with an indication that the Indian Commission can issue a notification of polls for six seats in August.
ECI has written a letter to the state government asking about the Coronavirus situation in the state.
This will make a decision about issuing notification of polls based on replies from the government, said which source is profitable to complete the election of the council.
The lobby for seven seats is very intense as a bed on a guaranteed board.
The ruling party has enough MLA to send six leaders to the Board with a quota of MLAs without contests.
The opposition is impossible for the contest because it does not have numbers by its side.
Apart from six MLC, another MLC term Srinivas Reddy was selected under the gubernatorial quota ended on June 17.
Previously, ECI had postponed the election of the council because there was an increase in the Covid-19 case during the second wave of pandemic.
The six members of the Council ended on June 3-Board of Chair Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairperson of Neti Vidyasagar, former Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, the Head of Whip B Venkateshwarlu, MD FareDuddn and Akula Lalitha.
