Notification for waste near the Hindon River

Ghaziabad: GMC has issued a notification to Khoda Nagar Palika Parishad to dispose of garbage with the Hindon River.
Officials said the fine of RS 5 Lakh would be imposed on violators to cause damage to the environment.
Mithilesh Kumar’s health worker told Ti that the corporation had received complaints from residents.
“On October 15, an inspection was carried out and Earthmover was found to throw garbage near the river.
Now, notifications have been issued and a report searched from the parish,” he added.
Also, garbage was reportedly discarded by the City Council of Khoda around Nandi Park founded by GMC.
Officials said such actions polluted land and water.
At present, there are no types of waste disposed of on this site, they add.
After the objection was raised in a designated location in the Rajnagar and Galand extension, the waste can be seen scattered throughout Ghaziabad for the past two weeks.
The source said it was possible that a private body that had been given a contract to lift garbage could be disposed of anywhere.
Kumar said responsibility would be repaired after they received a reply from the Parisad.
Khoda Nagar Palika Executive Parishad Krishan Kant Mishra said he had not received a notification from the corporation in this matter.
“I am not in a position to comment on this problem because Parishad has not received any letter,” he told toi.
Meanwhile, the corporation has begun the process to establish a boundary wall on 44 acre land in the galland which is intended for garbage disposal and start a waste plant to energy.
