Notification of Rooftop Park for New City Immediately Rise

Kolkata: The new city of Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) will immediately issue final notifications for all high-rise buildings in the city to have mandatory provisions for roof gardening and harvest rainwater, along with several other rules.
The authorities are in the process of making the modifications needed in the rules of the building.
NKDA has developed gardening on the roof in some of its market complexes.
NKDA has issued an advisor in March, urging residents to take gardening roofs and develop rainwater harvesting systems in their housing complexes, along with several other steps, such as planting trees in all fields, preparing electric vehicle charging points in the parking space in the housing complex and the development of wastewater recycling systems.
NKDA officials said the objectives of mandatory provisions for harvesting rainwater and roof gardening were having a new city that was green and clean and developed a sustainable environment for the city to tide the ‘green town’ tag.
The new city has been awarded the ‘Green City Certificate of Platinum Value’ by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its initiative to create a sustainable environment.
According to advisors, the waste water recycling system must be developed in all buildings, including group housing, which has a minimum debit of 25,000L and above per day for flushing toilets, gardening, car wash and other uses.
The roof area of each building must also reflect the paint panel and solar to minimize heat absorption.
The NKDA has also proposed the maximum limit permitted from the supply of 120 liters of water per capita per day for housing populations and 40 liters per capita per day for floating populations.
To increase the green cover, the NKDA has set a target of planting 10,000 trees this season.
