Notification of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board to the Kalinganggar factory to pollute the nearest villages

Kendrapada: Odisha State Pollution Control Agency (OSPCB) serves notifications at the Coke Visa Limited factory in Kalinganagar in Jajpur Regency on Tuesday to show the reason why the direction under relevant laws will not be published to pollute the nearest villages.
This step followed the petition by Ashwini Kumar Dhal, President Kalinganggar Paribesh Surakha Samiti.
OSPCB has requested a visa factory to reply within 15 days of receipt of notification, which legal action fails to be initiated against it without further information.
“This notification is issued based on section 33 (a) water (prevention and control of pollution) of law, 1974 and section 31 (a) air (prevention) and pollution control) ACT 1981,” A regional official OSPCB office (Kalingananagar) said.
“We found serious irregularities in parts of the plant during inspections on October 5 and 26.
We found that the plant had had waste to the body of water outside through culverts to operate conditions.
We also found the existence of phenol and cyanide in the water channel that leads to culverts.
Plant authorities must immediately take steps to control pollution according to the law, “added the official.
However, Sandeep Mishra, Assistant General Manager (HR) from the factory, said, “We have not received a notification of the causes of the show from OSPCB.” Kudukahi, Jamhapura, Baluabandhi, Alalala, Rungurunga, Arasahi, Telibahani and other villages near the factory have been greatly influenced by untreated waste which caused water pollution in the area.
“Apathy from the authorities concerned in controlling pollution has made the life of 20,000 residents of these villages miserable,” Ashhwini Dhal, the Petitioner and a Lovers of the Jamhapura environment, were accused.
