Tokyo: World number one tennis, Novak Djokovic, arrived at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Wednesday afternoon, before the Olympics.
Only last Thursday, Djokovic, 34, posted on Twitter said he had booked his flight and proudly represented Serbia in the match in Tokyo.
If he won gold in single men and in the US Open, he would become the first male tennis player to complete the “Golden Slam” – four Grand Slam tournaments and Olympics in the same calendar year.
Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Nick Kyrgios are one of the top men players who will not compete in the Olympics.
The best before at an Olympics was a bronze in Beijing in 2008.
