Novak Djokovic Clocks 334 weeks in number one in ATP rankings

Paris: Novak Djokovic, who has won the three majors this year and has strong eyes completing a sweep with other successes in the US Open, staying comfortable in number one in ATP ranking, released on Monday.
Serbia has now spent a record 334 weeks in the top position, deep in front of the best Roger Federer, which is managed 310 and is now down in number nine and faces several months of action while he undergoes further knee surgery.
Federer said on Sunday he “will come out for months”, a decision that throws doubts about his future in tennis at the age of 40 years.
“I will be on a stick for weeks and get out of the game for months,” 20-time winner of the Grand Slam Federer title said in the video posted on his Instagram account.
Daniil Medvedev remained at number two after his victory in Toronto on Sunday while the man he defeated in the final, American Reilly Opelka, rose nine places for 23.
Norwegian Casper Ruud continued to knock on the top 10, moving up the place, shadowed by the pole Hubert Hurkacz, who beat Federer in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon.
