Novak Djokovic wins on home Ground Before French Open

BELGRADE: Novak Djokovic enjoyed victory at his tennis center if he won the Belgrade Open with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph Slovakian Alex Molcan at Saturday’s closing however his performance left much to be desired before the French Open.
World number one Djokovic obtained a standing ovation from the home audience by the Danube river from the Serbian capital following an erratic screen against world number 255 Molcan, that fought from the qualifying rounds.
It had been Djokovic’s first victory because he uttered his 18th major in the Open in February.
Ever since that time, he’s endured rough claycourt season, such as a previous 16 exit in the Monte Carlo Masters.
Djokovic also dropped to Russian Aslan Karatsev at the Serbia Open semi-finals prior to being conquered by Rafael Nadal at the Rome Masters final and also his screen against Molcan was sometimes unconvincing.
However, Djokovic struck a joyful figure as he raised the prize.
“I need to thank everybody who was and made this a pleasant afternoon, I must confess that a part of my head is currently in Paris,” Djokovic said in a courtside interview.
“It was a simple choice to get this tournament, I’d had some moments ideas and I am thrilled that people came so beautifully with this function.
“I’m planning for the title at Roland Garros.
