Kolkata: After CPM, the left alliance partner CPI is willing to support any party or platform that challenges BJP, which considers its main enemy, the top leader of the West Bengal unit party on Friday.
The development came just a few days after the head of the West Bengal front and members of the CPM Politburo Biman Bose in a change in attitude said the parties were ready to hand in hand with the Trinamool Congress to fight BJP at the national level.
“Our central and country leadership has decided during our last party Congress that the CPI will support each party or coalition that treats BJP as the main threat and wants to overthrow it.
It does not matter if in this effort we must join hands with Congress.
Or other regional parties such as TMC , “said Secretary of State CPI Hidan Banerjee to PTI.
During the party selection review meeting, again resolved by the CPI state unit that in the war against BJP at the national level, would not hesitate to join hands with TMC, he said.
“But joining TMC at the national level does not mean we will disburse our struggle at the state level.
But we must accept the fact that BJP is the biggest danger faced by the current country,” he said.
The Left-LED-LED Front CPM, the new Indian Congress and Secular Front were formed have collected alliances and opposed the state assemblies this year and have stated that both TMC and BJP are their main enemies.
But for the first time since independence, both left front and Congress failed to open their account at the State Assembly while ISF could win only one seat.
Cracks seem to have appeared in front of the left with big allies such as CPI, FORWARD BLOC and RSP will hammer and clamp against CPM for its decision to the Allies with the Cleric Abbass Seculqui’s Secular India (ISF) and blame the “Lopided Decision” for the left electoral disaster that has never been happened before in the state.
“CPM is in a hurry to be allied with ISF.
They gave more interests for ISF than deserved.
Secondly, we must not forget that a Ulama leads ISF and people do not like it,” he said.
“We are ready to work with anti-BJP parties.
This has become our attitude whenever the need arises for a big movement of the forces of split from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” Bose said this week for the question whether CPM would be with TMC to prevent power in 2024 Lok Sabha Election.
The Banerjee Mamata Party came to power in West Bengal in 2011, expelling the 34-year-old front government.
TMC has ruled the country since then.
