Hyderabad: Thanks to the Drone Pilot Project that has recently been concluded, in the coming days, technicians may avoid the dangers of manual inspection to the tower and extra high transmission line (EHT) in Telangana.
Now it will be a drone that will take the job to check this tower and line.
The Telangana Government on Tuesday said the technology that appeared in the ITE & C Department along with the Hyderabad-Based Startup Network has concluded that the air survey pilot to the EHT tower & transmission line using artificial drones and intelligence (AI).
In the pilot project, which began in August 2020, the Centillion Networks drone checked, monitored and patrol the tower, line, and EHT transmission substation with a 4K resolution camera and the AI image recognition system in about 20 minutes.
“It is estimated that automatic inspections using drones can reduce working hours and costs around 50%, in addition to reducing the risk of potential life caused by manual inspection of the high tension line,” said the state government, added that this project is expected to be improved soon.
Commenting on Development, Jayesh Ranjan, Primary Secretary for TI and Industries, “Telangana is one of the leading countries in utilizing drones in various cases of use, and tower inspection for TS-Transco is one of the most innovative than them.”
