New Delhi: After Twitter, Facebook’s giant social media has removed the content posted by Congressman Rahul Gandhi who identified a family of nine-year-old girls suspected of being ranked and murder in Delhi, said it violated the social media platform policy.
Facebook tells Gandhi and the National Commission for the protection of children’s rights regarding the removal of posts from Facebook and Instagram.
Earlier this week, Facebook had written to Gandhi asked him to remove the post from Instagram – a Photosharing Facebook platform.
“We have taken action to remove content because it violates our policy,” said Facebook spokesman in a statement emailed on Friday.
Facebook takes action against content if violates its community standards or after receiving valid legal requests according to Indian laws.
Last week, the National Commission for Protection of Children’s Rights has requested Facebook to take appropriate action on Instagram Gandhi’s profile for “Violations of Terms” from Justice Juvenile, 2015, Indian criminal codes, and India.
and demand the removal of the post from the platform.
After communication from Facebook to Gandhi the previous week, NCPCR pulled its direction to the company to appear before the commission with an explanation of the non-action regarding Gandhi Post.
Earlier this month, Gandhi had met the family of the nine-year-old girl and confirmed that she was with them on the road to justice and “will not retreat even one inch”.
Then, he posted a photo of his meeting with the girl’s parents on Instagram.
Similar posts are also distributed on Twitter.
The microblogging platform has locked the Gandhi account and many other congression leaders who tweeted the Post.
On August 14, Twitter restored the Gandhi account after members of Congress submit a letter of approval from the family of the little girl.
However, Twitter continues to hold tweets that contain images that say they violate Indian law.
