Now, Jaigar Fortress under the Department of Forest Scanner

Jaipur: The Ministry of Forestry State has questioned commercial activities at the Fort Jaigarh, which is owned by the former Yaipur Kingdom family.
Stated that the fort is located on a forest land that has been notified under Section 20 of the Rajasthan forest law on January 15, 1962, the Department has asked the property manager to explain where the laws they carry out commercial activities and if they receive a ‘no Certificate of objection ‘(NOC) for the same thing.
The department has quoted the Green Tribunal National Order (NGT) on October 4 which prohibits commercial activities at the Nahargarh fortress, which is also located on the same forest land in Amber subdivision.
Ghanzansar Forest Assistant Forest Conservator Ali Zaidi said, “We have issued a notification to forest administration regarding commercial activities in the fort.
However, there is no answer given to date.” The office carrier in the Jaigarh government claimed that they did not receive notifications from the Ministry of Forestry.

Previously, NGT had directed to stop all commercial activities in the forest area which was informed from Nahargarh wildlife reserve with the effect of December 1, 2021.
Rajendra Tiwari, an environmental lover who filed litigation of public interest (pill), has accused that illegal commercial activities occurred in Reserve forests and forests who violated the protection of wildlife protection, in 1972 and forests (conservation), 1980.
“The state government of the notification on 21.11.1961 has stated the Jaigarh area and the Fortress of Nahargarh as Forest Reserve.
The two forties are under the property of wildlife asylum and the forest department, “said Tiwari.
The source in the Ministry of Forestry accused that in the past, many films were shot in Jaigarh fortress.
However, the shooting of illegal films in the reserve forest because it is a violation of wildlife protection and forest conservation acts.
The applicant has also sent it to NGT that while the forestry department manages the Keoladoo National Park and Rantthambhore and Madhopur Arab Sawai reserves, the Nahargarh fortress is not operated by the department.
Jaigarh Fortress was built in 1726 by Sawan Jai Singh II and several hundred feet above sea level.
The almost intact fortress was attached by large walls and connected to Amer fortress by the underground parts.
It is believed to have been built to protect Fort Amer and is an important monument.
