Now, Ludhiana textile companies can export threads, goods via train to Bangladesh

Ludhiana: In new initiatives by Indian Railways, transportation of raw materials such as threads, fabrics and goods from Ludhiana textile and garment companies will be exported directly by train to Bangladesh.
Railway’s Ambala Division works with the MGH Group has started this facility and on that Sunday for the first time the train contains a special package train full of cotton threads outside the national borders to Bangladesh from Ambala Cantt station.
This train, consisting of 20 Parcel Vans (VPU), was marked on Monday in the presence of senior train officials at Ambala.
According to the train, customers choose this facility will get a final transportation solution that ends like exporting threads, fabrics & FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) from each factory throughout Ludhiana and Baddi to their buyer’s factory including customs including cleaning in the second Border side.
Some potential customers form Ludhiana including Aarti International, Cedaar Textiles, Garg Acrylic, Nahar Spinning & Vardhman Textiles.
Speaking on that occasion, DCM Senior, Vivek Sharma said, “Previously, entrepreneurs in and around Punjab & Haryana transport commodities such as threads, fabrics & goods through the road to Bangladesh in small quantities and with very high shipping costs.
