Dausa: The Transport Minister Union Nitin Gadkari said that his ministry was in talks with foreign companies to build an electric highway between Jaipur and Delhi.
He made this announcement while checking the progress of the job at Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa on Thursday.
“This is my dream project to build an electric highway from Delhi to Jaipur.
It is still the proposed project.
After completing the technology to be used and discussed with the company, the decision will be taken.
Like electric train engines, buses and trucks will also be powered By electricity.
As the Minister of Transportation, I have taken a resolution to end the use of gasoline and diesel in this country.
Farmers will give us an alternative to this, “Gadkari said while handling the media.
“We can now produce ethanol from corn, wheat, rice and bajra.
Ethanol will immediately replace gasoline, and I will bring the law to ensure that the scooter and bike do not run on gasoline.
So, instead of buying gasoline at Rs 110 per Liter, someone can buy ethanol at Rs 65 per liter to run their vehicle.
This will reduce further air pollution, “he added.
Gadkari also rode the bus to check the site.
“This is the largest express highway in the world.
After the completion of the project, the distance between Delhi and Mumbai will be closed in 12 to 12.5 hours and the distance between Delhi and Jaipur will be covered in two hours.
The first phase of the project from Delhi to Dausa will be completed on March 2022, “Gadkari said.
“To ensure the protection of wildlife so they are not disturbed because of this project, I have decided to use the sound of Indian musical instruments for horns and sirens.
It will also reduce voice pollution,” he added.
Providing total work accounts conducted in Rajasthan, he said, from 2014 to 2020, RS 35,000 Crore has been spent on road construction, covering 5,800 km.
In 2021-22, 900km will be resolved at a cost of 10,000 crore and, at 2023-24, 2,500 km of the road will be built at a cost of Rs 30,000 Crore.
