Ranchi: Consignment of Covid-19 Vaksin Russia Sputnik V has arrived in the city and Medanta Hospital in Ranchi has become the first health center in the country to launch a vaccine on June 24.
Adenoviral-based vaccines are given in two doses with a gap of three to four weeks in India.
Speaking with Toi, the hospital community relations official, Javed Akhtar, said, “We provide around 200 to 240 beneficiaries every day.
The cost for vaccines is Rs 1,145 per dose and people can visit our hospital to take Jab.” Specifically , Sputnik V is a two-part vaccine against Coronavirus SARS-COV-2 produced in Russia.
It uses a weakening virus to provide a small part of the pathogen and stimulate immune response.
The vaccine must be managed intramuscular in two doses each 0.5 ml at the 21-day interval.
