City Corporation is ready to streamline garbage collection from door to door by redefining routes for lightweight commercial vehicles used for the same thing and ensuring the daily collection process.
This step came after corporate officials, who recently traced vehicle movements with GPS help, they were found not to follow the routes assigned to them and did not collect waste regularly.
There are more than 200 lightweight commercial vehicles involved in door-door garbage collection.
“The vehicle must hold on to routes given to them and ensure door-to-door garbage collection every day.
But they only gather waste on alternative days, while not following the route assigned to them,” said a corporate official.
The corporate commissioner King Gopal Sunkara said the route for each vehicle will be redefined, while ensuring that they follow the same without fail.
Indicates that vehicles are sent to commercial buildings based on priorities to gather waste so far, he said now priority will collect household waste.
“Men and machines will be deployed to clear the waste from the commercial unit only after completing the collection of waste from the door from the house every morning.
Residents do not need to carry garbage and throw it with garbage,” he said.
A health official with City Corporation, meanwhile, said that after ensuring compliance with declining waste separation and not degraded at the source, they will also ensure the segregation of wet and solid waste at the source.
City Corporation also works to make all functional micro composting centers.
“While most of the central proposed under the city’s smart scheme is ready, only a few of them are operational so far.
