Ahmedabad: Sexttorionists are now turning to AI (artificial intelligence) to raise their squeeze games.
Their latest weapons are video deepfake – digitally changed recording from real people who show things they have never done.
The worst victim, of course, women.
Top sources say that online sextitalists from Mamat in Haryana, who previously used screens’ catches from their male victims in compromising positions on the WhatsApp chat to squeeze them, have become a little creative.
They now use the DeepFake application to make porn clips starring the television actress to target money.
Using AI, Starlet’s face is superimposed in the face of a woman in the original clip to make the inner porn clip used to captivate men who are easily fooled.
“The final product will look like a celebrity is part of a porn clip,” said a police officer.
Recently, a city lawyer, who pondered suicide after losing Rs 3 Lakh to Sextortionists, had called a suicide prevention assistance channel.
That’s when the police learned about the new modus operandi.
The perpetrator threatened to make a public recording.
The police have not registered the case and tried to track digital fingerprints criminals.
According to sources, the first offender gathered information about their ‘prey’ from their public social media profile.
They then contacted those people with deep porn videos, asking basic questions and gradually lured them so as not to damage themselves.
Criminals record the same video and squeeze men by threatening to send content sexually to their online contacts.
“Many do not realize that their Facebook, Instagram and Telegram accounts can be locked to allow only their friends to access them,” explained police officers.
“The video of the deepfake they made from the actress of TV soap is very trusted and the naive person will consider it real,” another police officer said.
The official also revealed that Gang Mewat had been identified, acknowledging that deepfake became a threat.
Previously, Cybercrooks used clips from porn sites to lure trusted men.
But with the new modus operandi, they transplanted the face to the clip to make people in and squeeze.
