Thiruvananthapuram: The meeting of the State Level Expert Committee in Covid-19, chaired by the Head of Pinarayi Vijayan’s Minister on Tuesday, further tightened Covid-19 limitations in the state.
According to new norms adopted by the Committee, the local body ward that has a weekly infection population ratio (WIPR) above 8 will be clamped under locking.
The state has locked ward with WIPR above 10 since then replaces TPR-based restrictions with WIPR.
The resolved review meeting increased by 50% of the micro detention zone in the district with a wip level above 14.
This occurs after the pace test in the country crosses 15% on Tuesday.
The committee has also tried to overcome criticism of vaccination-based restrictions that were previously enacted to the movement of people who were not vaccinated.
However, in this effort, the committee seems to make it difficult for the knotty’s affair.
The previous order wants people to produce Covid-19 vaccination certificates or RT-PCR negative certificates to enter shops, banks, markets and even public, personal offices, factories and the like.
The revised norm says that people who are not vaccinated can move to buy food items, provided that no one is vaccinated in their homes, or they cannot accept vaccines due to drug allergies.
This further directs traders to give priority to those who are not vaccinated.
“Traders and LSGIS concerned will pay special attention to these categories of people and ensure delivery of important goods,” said government orders.
In Sabarimala, 15,000 worshipers will be given entries when the temple is open to the monthly pooja on August 15.
They have received two vaccine shots or which produces Covid-19 negative certificates within 72 hours when Darsan will be allowed to enter as soon as they register their names in a virtual queue.
The meeting also decided not to allow programs that lead to crowding during the Onam festival.
The merchant meeting will be arranged at the local-body level and only licensed vendors are allowed to be involved in sales on the roadside.
The meeting has also decided to correct the standard costs for RT-PCR testing at the airport.
Pediatric facilities will also be upgraded at the hospital.
TPR jumped to 15.91% of the country on Tuesday noted 21,119 new Covid-19 cases and 152 deaths.
With this, the total death toll has touched 18.004.
TPR rose to 15.91% when 1,32,769 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
WIPR is higher than 10 in 266 wards.
