Bengaluru: Tourists will now be able to take helicopters to reach places like Chikkamagaluru, Coorg, Kabini, and Badami.
Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation has signed a mous with two helicopter operators – Thumby Aviation Pvt Ltd and Chipsan Aviation Pvt Ltd for projects and tourism agreements valid for five years.
Tourism Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey said: “KSTDC will provide support to these agents to obtain various approval and government permits, certification, etc., and also help in binding hotels and luxury resorts in the state.” Saying that KSTDC will help in obtaining permission to use government belonging helipad, Pandey said: “Heli-tourism promotion will be carried out through the Ministry of Tourism and the KSSDC website and social media platform.”
