NEW DELHI: Minister of Home Union Amit Shah on Saturday welcomed the power of the Elite National Security Guard (NSG) on the 37th day, said it was “the world trained forces to overcome all aspects of terrorism” and this country is proud of that troops.
The Elite Striking Force, NSG was founded in 1984 after the Union cabinet decided to create ‘the power of federal contingency’ which was well trained to overcome various manifestations of terrorism.
Every year, NSG maintenance day is celebrated on October 16.
This year marked the 37-year anniversary of the formation of NSG, known as a black cat.
“Greetings to our brave NSG personnel on the 37th day they are proud of the NSG black cat,” Minister of Home Tweeted.
NSG was intended to be deployed in extraordinary circumstances and was not intended to take over the function of other paramilitary forces or state police forces.
Task-oriented power consists of two complementary elements in the form of a special action group (SAG).
KAG was formed from army personnel and a special ranger group, consisting of personnel taken from the State Police forces or central armed police forces.
It has six operational centers, with plans for the seventh in Pathankot.
NSG was able to handle various high-pressure situations such as terrorist attacks, prisoners of hostages and piracy.
It is also used to handle VIP security in this country, until the decision to attract the same style was taken in 2020 by the central government.
Black cats play an important role during the ‘Black Tornado Operation’ in 2008, when the NSG Command invaded Nariman House, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Oberoi Trident Hotel, and coordinated with other troops, killing all terrorists who had put it.
