Ranchi: National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd.
(NTPC), the government-owned power utility company, now plans to increase coal production in Pakri-Barwadih’s restrained mine in Hazaribag to meet the increasing demand from the power plant unit.
NTPC said it has communicated regularly by train to double the train track to transport coal.
In an official statement, PSU also said the train had approved the proposal including the commissioning loading bulb in the banned yard and made the provisions for the ‘Y’ part of the hazaribag rail line and the coderma.
These provisions will increase coal transportation by 50%, he said.
Several high-ranking officials from the train visited Banadag Railway Siding at the Pakri-Barwadih coal mining project and met NTPC officials to discuss increased coal loading.
NTPC officials said the maximum load carrier capacity of the banadag siding was 10 rakes in one day in accordance with 39,000 tons at this time.
“Because coal is sent to 40 units of power generation throughout the country, the augmentation of coal delivery infrastructure will help us in securing coal reserves in this power plant,” said an NTPC official.
While NTPC funded the work of infrastructure development in the banadag siding, the train has asked PSU to consider financial participation in the project to double the coderma-hazaribagh line.
