Nagpur: Even when the PHD recipient and the winner of the medal were prohibited from attending the 108th conference physically due to the restrictions of Covid-19, Nagpur University had made arrangements for them to give up personally degrees and prizes on later dates.
During the Friday ceremony, Chancellor BS Koshyari along with VC would almost provide degrees and medals to all 77,912 students.
Only Doctoral Degree of Honorary Law (LLD) which will be awarded at the former Chairman of India Judge Sharad Bobde at NU Convocacy Hall physically.
Chaudhari’s Deputy Chancellor Chaudhari told that the University would invite all the Winners of the Medal and PhD holders on various dates by considering the protocol to be followed for Covid-19 where more than 50 people were not permitted in the hall.
All 107 medal winners will be respected on July 12 in two batches in the Convocation Hall.
From 11:00 to 1 noon, those from the Faculty of Science and Technology and Trade and Management will be given medals and gifts from VC, PRO-VC and other officials.
From 1:30 a.m.
to 3.30 a.m., students from the Faculty of Humanities and inter-disciplinary studies will be arrested by the top brass.
Likewise, the recipient of the PhD from the Faculty of Science and Technology will be given a title on July 13, Most Trade and Management on July 14, Humanities on July 15 and interdisciplinary studies on July 16.
“The arrangement will be made so that they click on a photo with a degree and medal, which is their chance once in a lifetime,” Chaudhari said.
Of the 867 PhD recipients, this list is dominated by students from the Faculty of Science and Technology in 308, followed by Humanities in 257, trade and management in 257 and interdisciplinary studies in 142.
Among them, three PhDs will be given annually to Samir Hiwarkar, Chakadhar Thawkar and Yogita Dhomne, as reported by TOI on July 6.
The university will venture the doctor’s degree (DLITT) to Ratnakar Bhelkar and Dr.
Tulsidas Gedam, both at the Humanities faculty.
The first will get the title to study about ‘Tukadoji Gram Geeta translation: Reality traditions’ and the latter will receive it for the project in ‘Shudra, All in Original’.
One degree will be given to students who complete me (research).
