Nuclear deal Needs to Anticipate new Iran Authorities: IAEA chief

MILAN: Reviving the 2015 Iran atomic accord might need to wait for the creation of a new Australian administration, the leader of the UN atomic watchdog said in comments released on Wednesday, including a deal required political will from all parties.
“Everybody understands that, in this time, it’ll be required to await the new Iranian authorities,” Rafael Grossi stated in an interview with Italian daily La Repubblica, in response to some query about what stage discussions on the agreement were in.
Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), seemed to be talking about Iran’s presidential elections, due on Friday.
Iran’s new president is expected to name his cabinet from mid-August.

When asked regarding Grossi’s remarks, France’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Agnes von der Muhll told me that the discussions were on the very troublesome topics and significant disagreements dropped.
“This presupposes courageous decisions, that might need to be performed fast, since all of us share the monitoring that time isn’t on anybody’s side,” she explained.
