Kottayam: The police moved quickly with his intention to appeal in the High Court to the court decision of the session in the case of rape of nuns.
Kottayam SP D Shilpa, on Saturday, said that the police sought the legal opinion of Githesh J Babu, the public prosecutor specifically in this case, in the scope of going to appeal.
The government will be notified of it through DGP, as soon as he gets a report along with supporting documents, he added.
The government will forward it to AG for legal opinion and they have 60 days for this, said Shilpa.
The prosecutor said he would submit his opinion within a week.
The main argument submitted by prosecution is that survivors have discredited small differences in various statements.
Likewise, all prosecution witnesses have been discredited as unreliable about small reasons.
Social backgrounds of nuns and contexts that cause different expressions on their experiences are not valued.
The prosecution argues that the true explanation for the late reporting and aspects of fiduciary relations with the defendant and the impact on the mental condition of survivors is not valued.
The prosecution calls it “surnpisik-ng” that no decision they serve in their arguments found in the assessment.
