WellLigton: New Zealand reported 173 Covid-19 Delta variant cases in the community on Monday, brought the total number of cases confirmed in the state community outbreak to 5,751.
Among the new infections, 163 was recorded in the largest city in Auckland, seven in the nearest Waikato, two in Northland and one in the Lake District Health Council area, according to the Ministry of Health.
A total of 90 cases were being treated at the hospital.
, including seven intensive care units or high dependency units.
There are 4,426 cases which are clearly related to epidemiologically with other cases or sub-clusters, and 861 further cases that have not been fully established.
The total number of Covid-19 cases confirmed in New Zealand stands at 8.504 at this time.
There are 14,638 the first and second vaccine doses given on Sunday.
Until now, 90 percent of New Zealand residents have their first dose and 81 percent are fully vaccinated, the ministry statement said.
