O2 Drop among patients recently vaxxed, those who have a travel history

Nagpur: General and private hospitals are now running a full outpatient department (OPDS) for patients with covid-symptoms like.
While most cases do not show symptoms or mild symptoms, they get confirmed as covid patients after traveling to different Indian cities requiring oxygen support.
In addition, many Covid patients claimed this had been recently vaccinated, some of them were no later than mid-December.
According to immunization information available, Covid antibodies develop 15 days after the second dose and beneficiaries must strictly follow Covid-APT behavior until later.
A 28-year-old young man, after receiving the first dose on December 27 was seriously ill after he went on a year-end holiday with the assumption of protection from partial vaccination.
On the other hand, a man was fully vaccinated by 89 years acknowledged in the same hospital being categorized as light to moderate patients.
Dr.
Mohan Nerker, a specialist in the Seven Star Hospital, the old man said he had admitted because it was mature.
“We have started remdesivir according to the treatment protocol for patients by dropping oxygen levels.
He has been sick in Mumbai, “said Nerkar.
He added that Covid Opd footsteps had gone up.
“Inflammation of the throat, headache, rising colds and serious sore bodies are the main complaints,” said the doctor.
Many of these patients are testing positively at Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) during OPD consultation.
The hospital has also recorded a sudden surge in teleconsultations from house-isolated patients.
“Antihistamines, analgesics and vitamin C are prescribed for house-isolated patients.
They took five to seven days to recover, “Nerkar said.
Dr.
Ashwini Tayade, specialist infectious diseases at Kingsway Hospital, said most patients treated were not vaccinated or had comorbidities.
“Compared to the previous wave, the number of people landed in the ICU was lacking.
Vaccination certainly protects, “he said.
Regarding recently vaccinated, Tayade said the number of patients needed low oxygen.
“Poor responds to vaccines, waning the antibody titers and Delta variant infections are a possibility explanation.
We have almost 80-90% of Omicron cases but still, the possibility of remains a delta infection, “he said.
On Monday, TOI visited the IGGMCH Covid Opd where the patient’s flow was ignored.
“It’s been more than two weeks since Covid OPD starts.
We have seen around 50 walk-in patients in this duration.
Some patients came to check-up after being tested positive, while others got tested here.
Only three of these patients needed in and diverted to our Covid ward.
This situation is very different from what is at the beginning of the second wave, “said the medical team.
At GMCH, their officials said Covid Opd had also received fewer patients.
“About 10 patients were treated but they did not have the main disease,” they said.
However, officials from both medical colleges warned that people do not have to take a minor illness.
“Cases that develop exponentially.
In a week, India has crossed 1 Mark Lakh, “they said.
Like on Monday, the active case of the Nagpur district surged to 4,158.
