New Delhi: After sending a covid vaccine to Bangladesh neighbors, now the government sends medical oxygen.
The Indian train on Saturday started an expression of oxygen carrying 200 tons of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) from Tatanagar in Jharkhand to Benapole in Bangladesh.
“This is the first time that Oxygen Express is operating to a neighboring country,” said the train Ministry in an official statement.
The train has started the operation of oxygen revealed on April 24 to provide a break to countries that require medical oxygen.
More than 35,000 tons of LMO are transported to 15 states.
About 480 oxygen expressed operated, the ministry said.
Demand for LMO in India rose by around 9,000 tons per day during the second wave peak.
