O2 plants a must for pvt hompons too

Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar District Administration has now made it mandatory for all private hospitals to install oxygen plants in their buildings.
So far, there are only 11 factories in a government company that will be ready at the end of July, but there is no private hospital that has an operational oxygen generation factory in Noida.
Last week, CMO had asked all private hospitals with more than 50 beds to arrange oxygen facilities.
Now the Ministry of Health has asked all hospitals with more than 50 beds to ensure that they have adsorption swing pressure factories (PSA) with adequate capacity in their buildings.
All hospitals with less than 50 beds have been asked to set enough oxygen cylinders and concentrators.
The hospital must submit a status report about it in seven days.
Officials said that in the third wave case, it would be difficult to handle cases if private hospitals, especially greater, did not have oxygen plants in their buildings.
“The PSA factory in the government hospital is only enough to supply through the attached pipes, but this plant cannot fill an external cylinder.
Private hospitals need to ensure that they have the capacity of the oxygen generation themselves,” said Suhas Ly, GB Nagar District Judge.
Health officials said that the PSA factory capacity has not been set for private hospitals because it will depend on the number of beds with hospital oxygen support.
Dr.
Shweta Khurana, Nodal Officer Support Oxygen, said, “Each hospital has allocated several beds with oxygen support.
While the 50 beds can have all oxygen beds, a larger hospital may have fewer oxygen beds .
So, the capacity needed will also be different.
We have left it to the hospital to ensure that they have sufficient oxygen support for all beds.
“Officials said that there were around 55 private hospitals in GB Nagar with 50 beds or more , From here, Kailash Hospital in Noida and Green City Hospital in Greater Noida have started the PSA factory installation while the status of all other hospitals is awaited.
Health officials added that at least five other oxygen plants could be planned for government hospitals through CSR initiatives from the company group.
