Dharmapuri: Oarsmen in Hogenakkal on Wednesday urged the district government to give permission to continue the Coracles vehicle on the Cauvery River.
The vehicle was closed for tourists in March 2020, after the Covid-19 outbreak.
District administration also prohibits tourists from visiting Hogenakkal because of locking.
One Oarsmen V Sigamani said, “Tourists usually visit Hogenakkal to enjoy the beauty of Cauvery, especially in the ‘Lima’ fall area.
Other Oarsmen cannot make a living because of locking.
Even after the first wave, we cannot continue the vehicle because of the heavy flow of water between September and December, he added.
The fate of the hospitators and the cottage owner was similar to the rower.
“While the government gave permission to open lodges and shops throughout the state after the second wave, several tourist attractions, including Hogenakkal, still closed , “said G Viswanathan, the owner of the lodge.” The owner of the cottage and the owner of the spa center will be happy if the state government allows tourists to visit Hogenakkal.
“They asked the district administration and the state government to allow them to continue their operations, given the condition of their family.
