OAS Candidates urge CM to delay electricity

Bhubaneswar: The candidate appears for the Main Examination of Odisha Civil Service, 2020, has urged the Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik to postpone it considering the increasing Covid case.

In the memorandum submitted to the Minister of Chief, the candidates said many of them had been tested positively Covid-19 and would not be easy for them to appear for inspection.

They said the government had closed schools, colleges and state universities after the Covid case skyrocketed in the state.
“Now, the country reports more than 10,000 Covid cases every day and no one knows when the third wave peak will come.
Why does the government insist on conducting a test now? It can be done then when the situation gets better,” said another candidate.
The candidates said the city’s corporation of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack had declared several regions as a detention zone every day.
“If this situation continues for a few more days, more zones like that may appear and we will not be able to get out of this zone to appear in the exam,” said a candidate.
In addition, many candidates have started an online campaign to put pressure on the government to postpone the examination.
Candidates, in videos posted on social media, said, “I have tested positive for Covid-19 and is doing drugs for this.
My husband needs to be hospitalized for Covid treatment.
