Obama: Trump Election ‘Hooey’ violates the core principle of democracy

WASHINGTON: Former US President Barack Obama said on Monday his replacement at the office, Donald Trump, violated the core principle of democracy when he made a “group of hoey” about last year’s election and refused to admit he lost.
Speaking on his first virtual fundraising since the 2020 election, Obama, a Democrat, said Trump’s claim damaged the legitimacy of US elections and helped lead to other anti-democratic measures such as efforts to suppress voting.
“What we see is a replacement, the former president, violates the core principle that you count the voice and then declare the winner – and make and make a large number of Hooey,” Obama said.
Trump continues to claim that the defeat is the result of a widespread fraud, which has been rejected by many courts, officials of the election of the country and members of his own government.
“What is called ‘great lie’ suddenly gets momentum,” which in turn has triggered legislative steps controlled by the Republic to reduce access to voting and get more control over election operations, Obama said.
“This is essentially.
If we don’t stop this kind of effort now, what we will see is more and more contested elections …
we will see the legitimacy of our democracy further,” he said, and “the details of the basic agreement that has held This extraordinary democratic experiment together for years.
” Governor of the Republic of Georgia, Arizona, Florida and Iowa have signed a new election limitation to become law this year, and the legislature of the state in Pennsylvania and Texas tried to advance similar steps.
These countries will be a battlefield in the middle election of the 2022 semester which will determine the control of Congress.
The US Justice Department on Friday sued to block the Georgian law, which tightened the requirements for identification of voting absent, limiting the use of drop-box boxes, and enabling the Republican state bodies to run local vote operations.
Obama said he believed the US Senate would hold a new voting on the bill of democratic voting rights which was blocked by the Republican Party last week.
Call fundraising is for the National Democratic Redistrics Committee as the United States to the expansion of Congress districts who will play an important role in determining whether Democrats control the House of Representatives next year.
History and redistricting shows they tend to fail.
