MUMBAI: BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday blamed the Maharashtra government for”neglect” within the Supreme Court’s decision hitting reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in human elections.
The Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress authorities was”never serious” about the matter, ” he declared in a letter to chief ministry Uddhav Thackeray.
“The Supreme Court struck down the OBC booking in local government elections.
The state administration’s inspection request was refused,” the BJP leader said the letter.
“It occurred because of unpardonable neglect of the country to the problem.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi authorities was not serious about the matter,” the former chief minister declared.
“During one of these hearings, the SC had requested the nation to establish a backward course commission and create empirical information that would warrant the booking.
On the other hand, the country did nothing,” the BJP leader declared.
State Congress leader Nana Patole, but blamed the BJP-led Union authorities for’not supplying data’.
“The SC had requested the Centre to distribute information to encourage the OBC booking.
The Centre intentionally failed to submit that, and so the reservation was hit .
The Centre is contrary to OBCs,” he said.
