October air is better than last year; Grap to kick today

Gurgaon: City Air Quality Index (AQI) in the first 14 days of October this year has been better than the same period last year.
This month, Gurgaon has recorded four days of ‘satisfying’ air so far, while ‘satisfying’ days are reported in the appropriate period in 2020.
The action plan (grap) will be applied in the region since Friday.
Gurgaon has seen one day aqi ‘poor’ in October so far.
In comparison, three days ‘poor’ were recorded in October last year.
In addition, a total of nine days ‘moderate’ has been reported this time, while the number stands at 11 years ago.
According to the state pollution control board Haryana (HSPCB), the impressive pre-grap steps from the beginning of October have helped improve the air quality this time.
“This year, we have chosen the ‘Prevention better than healing’ policies and has helped us maintain better air quality.
We have implemented night patrols to curb waste burning activities,” said Kuldeep Singh, Regional Officer HSPCB, Gurgaon.
Even when air quality in this region is in the range ‘moderate’, this city will apply wine steps to reduce air pollution from Friday, which will include burning of garbage and impose severe fines to violators, enforce pollution control regulations in the combustion and Industry, sweeps periodically mechanically on the road with solid traffic and sprinkling water on the road that is not paved every two days.
Strict vigilance will be carried out and there will be no tolerance for emissions seen as a vehicle that is clearly visible to be banned by a fine of confiscated or severe, said HSPCB official.
These steps also include upholding the rules of dust control in construction activities, turning off sites that are not obedient and mobilize traffic police for the subtle traffic flow in the vulnerable areas identified.
“We have begun to sprinkle water on the road where construction activities are being carried out.
On Thursday, we sprinkled water in Mahavir Chowk where construction is happening because it is one of the stretches that produces the main dust of Gurgaon.
We will take all the necessary steps.
October 15 (Friday), “said Subhash Yadav, Nodal Officer City Environmental Gurgaon Company and sustainability wing.
Meanwhile, air quality is likely to deteriorate in the coming days because the temperature in the region is expected to increase.
On Thursday, the whole city was stood in 172.
Three stations of the four ‘satisfying’ Aqi reported.
Aqi is 152 at GwalPahari Station, 146 in Sadan Vikas, 184 in Teri Gram and 210 in Sector 51.
Aqi between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfying’, 101 and 200 ‘Moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘ Poor ‘, 301 and 400’ very poor ‘and 401 and 500’ severe ‘.
