OCW PENALTY WAY: File Arya Complaints Against Former Mayor, Others

Nagpur: The leader of the former Congress (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) (NCP) Vedprakash Arya on Monday filed a complaint of the police against the former Mayor of Sandip Joshi and Nanda Jichkar, former Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Chairman of the EX-Water Virendra Virendra Virendra Job Committee Virendra Kukreja For allegedly releasing RS92 crore sentences to the personal operator of Orange City Water Private (OCW) Limited.
In a complaint submitted with the conscious and memorandum police station submitted to DCP (Zone-II) Vinita Sahu, Arya demanded registration of violations against them all under Section 403, 406 and 409 of the IPC.
The decision to release penalties was taken at the Nagpur Limited Environmental Council meeting, a special purpose vehicle formed for the implementation of 24×7 water supply projects, on February 15, 2019.
In the past also, including several complaints, including those proposed by former Minister of State House Anil Deshmukh and Minister of Water Resources Jayant Patil.
Vice President NCP stated that all the terms and conditions of the contract were framed to benefit private companies.
“Since 2012, the NMC has caused losses of RS722.23 Crore,” he said.
Arya claims that it has become a sign of making a loss for Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) since 2012 when it appointed OCWL to launch 24×7 water supply.
Until 2010-2011 NMC managed the city water supply, it produced a profit from RS3 Crore.
According to him, until 2011-12, NMC was used to billing 187.89 MLD.
But when it entrusted the job to OCW, it paid 250 MLD for five years.
It was also mentioned in the agreement.
The audit objection also mentions OCW generating RS26.25 Crore’s profit between 2012 and 2014, Arya stated in complaints.
Complaints stated that the Auditor General also revealed that OCW had charged an additional 150% in NESL to install meters and valves.
“Private companies have bought meters, valves, pipes, saddles etc.
with RS1,494.79 per connection, while it is reported to collect RS3,484.20 per connection from NESL,” said Arya and demanding detailed investigations into the audit objection.
According to Arya, OCW should replace the old meter with a new one and implement a 24×7 project in five years between April 1, 2012 and March 31, 2017.
He said that OCW failed to reach the target and NMC revised the deadline of up to 2022.
For delays in completing work, the RS54 Crore penalty was imposed on OCW because it failed to replace the old meters and the RS38 crore as a fine flower.
However, in the NESL board meeting was released under the one-time settlement scheme, he said.
Sandip Joshi is not available for comments.
DCP Sahu said that a police inspector from the conscious police station was asked to verify the fact of Arya’s complaint.
“After we verify the accusations leveled by Arya, further action will begin,” he said.
