Odi Odi Pakistan-West Series Calling Covid Cases

Karachi: One-day international series between Pakistani and West Indies hosts starting this weekend was summoned Thursday because of the Covid-19 outbreak among the visitors, officials said from both parties.
Five members of the West Indies forces – including three players – were positively tested for Covid on Thursday, in addition to four cases reported on weekends.
The three-match series, which will begin Saturday, is part of the qualifying round for the 2023 World Cup.
The match will be rescheduled for June next year, a statement from officials said, adding decisions was taken to protect the players and recognize limited resources left in the squad West Indies.

West Indies officials said the latest positive test results in the squad came from Wicketkeeper-Batsman Shai Hope, Hosein’s left arm spinner, Justin Greaves all-rounder, assistant coach Roddy Estwick, and doctor Akshai Mansingh.
The left arm of Pace Bowler Sheldon Cottrell, and All-Rounders Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, were tested positive for Covid on Saturday along with a team official.
