Bhubaneswar: Odia’s documentary about life and time the mastermind of Odisha is directed and edited by the national award-winning filmmaker, Lipika Singh Darai, has been chosen to be played on the 39th edition of the Asolo Art Film Festival, Italy on Monday.
This film, called a backstage, has been selected in the category of film competition features a part called film on art.
85 minutes films have documented four forms of dolls including gloves, ropes, stems and shadows, which are now done by the last generation of artists in Odisha.
Forms of the People’s Art, which is vulnerable to as a player, which most belongs to a lower community strata, is experiencing silent death.
“One night after watching a cultural event on a form of dying art, I knew senior journalists that in the state of Odisha I had an old mastermind with several hundred dolls and there would be no one of them in heritage.
Curiosity to meet the mastermind is the beginning of the trip where the idea of a germinated film , “said Lipika.
