Bhubaneswar: Dilip Kumar Bhanja, UN official and indigenous Odisha, who returned from Afghanistan on Sunday, expressed concern to Indians living in the country controlled by the Taliban.

Bhanja, a resident of Bhubaneswar, has worked in Afghanistan for the past half a year as a program policy advisor from the UN World Food Program (WFP).
“I also visited this country before 2018-19.
Ordinary people in Afghanistan are very kind and innocent.
They love Indians.
That’s why they want to come to India,” he added.
He said the country witnessed cases of insulated violence incidents such as bombings.
“Previously, people did not take it seriously because they were adapted with a chaotic situation before.
But the Taliban group began to capture the province of one by one in a very organized way earlier this month.
And they took over the country in a few days of surprising a lot,” he added.
The official said they felt the problem after the Taliban won several provinces in the country.
“We were ordered to leave the country anytime.
But there were no commercial flights operating from Afghanistan at that time.
It was a very risky business for us to go to the chaotic kabul airport at the time.

Bhanja and his colleagues planned to leave the country before, but the plan did not work according to their wishes.
The Taliban people came to their office school and asked security officials to drop their arms and ammunition.
“The Taliban group said they would guard the office,” he added.

“Last week, we began our journey at a large car convoy to reach Kabul airport for departure.
