Odisha: 14 km trips for poll staff on the left wing extremism-hit Nuuada District

BHubaneswar: The upcoming Pancir Panchayat vote personnel must run around 14 km, across deep forests, rivers and Ghat roads, to reach the station in Katphar in Nuabada District.
On the left side of the extremism wing (LWE) -light, four voting stations have a temporary structure, while five are located in an inaccessible area.
Overall 308 booths are located in the area that is prone to lwe.
Sources at the Regency Panchayat Office said two workers would help personnel reach areas that were inaccessible.
“Each team will be accompanied by two security personnel.
The distance from the delivery point to five booths that cannot be accessed is different from 3 km to 14 km,” said Pancrayat Officer (Nuabada) Arjun Majhi.
Nuuada SP Pratyush was weaponed said Walkie-Talkie would be given to security staff.
The bicycle borne team will also get used to the security for polling personnel.
