Odisha: 230 gamblers were held, 9 lakh was confiscated during the celebration season at Ganjam

Frighted: Apart from the crackdown of the police, gambling continues during the celebration season in the Ganjam district.
In the last two days, 230 gamblers were arrested and around Rs 9 Lakh were confiscated from them in the district after the police raided 58 Tamling Dens.
While 124 gamblers were arrested and around Rs 3.79 Lakh were confiscated by police in the police district Ganjam on Monday, as many as 21 gamblers were arrested and Rs 1.20 lakh were confiscated by Bada Bazar and a conscious Bada police conscious, the official source said.
Gambling began before Dussehra and continued until Kumar Purnima.

While Dewi Mahalaxmi was worshiped during the day at Kumar Purnima, gambling dominated a festive night.
Mahalaxmi believers can only be called through gambling today and gambling wearing new clothes.
Police Supervisors (Ganjam) Brijesh Kumar Rai said the raids would continue to crack down on gamblers because gambling often created legal and order situations.
Also, gambling is prohibited under the law, he said.
Similarly, SP (mixed) Pinak Mishra has ordered the field staff to continue the drive to eliminate Tarbling Dens during the celebration period.
