BHUBANESWAR: The Puri Authorities on Tuesday finalised the Safety Agreements for Thursday’s Debasnan Purnima at Jagannath temple.
The authorities have split Puri to six zones and 35 platoons are going to be on guard for easy behaviour of this festival until Rath Yatra.
Just like this past year, the government has prohibited allies of devotees in and about Jagannath Temple through Debasnan Purnima in light of this Covid pandemic.
Several areas in Puri city, including the temple periphery will soon be under curfew from 10 pm Wednesday until two am on Friday to avoid laziness of devotees.
“The government may promulgate prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC round the temple to stop gathering of individuals.
The authorities may facilitate live telecast of this festival throughout Doordarshan.
Devotees can observe the festival dwell in their TV screens.
We appeal to the public to remain inside and don’t violate prohibitory orders,” Puri superintendent of authorities Kanwar Vishal Singh explained.
He explained a three-layer safety cordon is going to be set in place for the smooth motion of licensed servitors to the temple and also to stop devotees from coming close to the shrine.
“We’ll put in 15 CCTV cameras away from the temple for surveillance.
Five added superintendents of police, 23 deputy superintendents of police, 41 inspectors and 150 officials are delegated for Snan Yatra obligation,” Singh added.
Specific police force and cellular patrolling units are made to discourage parties from the banned areas.

Temple officials stated rituals of Debasnan Purnima is going to be done by a restricted number of servitors that have tested negative for Covid-19.
The idols of these deities are scheduled to be pulled from the sanctum sanctorum into the bathing altar in the temple at the first hours (pre-dawn) of Thursday.
The deities will be provided a ceremonial bath on Snan Mandap (bathing ) and after game fabulous lace apparel, indicating Hati Besha.
