Bhubaneswar: around 500 kg of silver, contributed by a worshiper for silver cladding from a door at Jagannath Temple, on Tuesday stored at the Puri District Treasury.
Silver will be excluded from the treasury about one or two months before Rath Yatra next year to commencement the work of silver-coatings in the terata Dwar near Sanctum Sanctorum.
“We have completed the Seven Silver Coating from seven doors – Jaya Bijaya, Bhogamandapa, Behuruta, SATA Pahacha, Bimala Temple, Laxmi Temple and Adi Nruspingha Temple by using around 2,000 kg of silver donated by worshipers,” said a senior temple officer.
