Bhubaneswar: A total of 632 assisted and private, higher secondary schools in the state have asked permission from the government to add around 52,000 seats to class XI.
The previous state government has been searching for applications from higher secondary schools that want to increase seats for an academic session of 2021-22.
The government must take this step after the percentage of record pass in this year’s class X board test because of an alternative assessment because the exam cannot be considered a covid crisis.
With initial estimates, there may be a shortage of nearly 30,000 seats at a higher secondary level.
The number of records 6.17,876 students have cleared the class board test this year, but the state has a total of 6.03,113 seats available at a higher secondary level.
The state has 4,43,354 seats at 2,032 high schools higher with the rest in vocational institutions.
Although there are a few more than 14,000 seats after the X class of the State Council, the government expects 10,000 other students to be applied from CBSE and ICSE schools in addition to other 5,000 countries from other states.
“The government will examine the application of private high school and higher the state government has not started a higher school acceptance process.
Source said the government was awaiting the results of the National Council to be stated before starting the acceptance process.
Even though the ICSE results were stated on Saturday, CBSE will take time to announce the results because the calculation work is not over.
In addition, the offline exam from the secondary education council, Odisha, for class X students is scheduled for July 31.
“If the government must wait until the results of the board are stated and the offline exam will end, Then there is no point in canceling the board test.
We will also appear for offline exams.
