Bhubaneswar: The Tehsildar of Nimapada in Puri District, Rama Chandra Jena, was arrested by the Directorate of Allegance of the State on Tuesday for alleged involvement in massive corruption and carrying cash that was not achieved around Rs 5 Lakh.
The anti-corruption wing was stunned to find Rama Chandra, ordered by vigilance in two separate corruption cases in the past, with five Pan cards in his name.
Rama Chandra, Odisha administrative service officer (OAS), is also a registrant in Nimapada.
Allegiance officials also arrested his sister, Laxman Jena for allegedly conducting corrupt activities Rama Chandra.
“We intercepted Rama Chandra near the quarterly in Nimapada and won the cash of Rs 4.65 lakh from him.
During his home search, Rs 50,000 more cash restored.
Simultaneous search was carried out at his residence in the SEC-11-CDA in Cuttack and his place of origin.

“We have known that his younger brother Laxman has managed Rama Chandra’s bribery for the past few years.
Laxman claimed before us that his brother gave him the cash of Rs 10 Lakh (bribery) in three phases in September to deposit at the bank.
Laxman has reached Nimapada to collect Rs 4.65 lakh from Rama Chandra this morning before we took cash, “the officer said.
Laxman was used to work as a truck helper in 2002-03, then the truck driver in 2006-07, a taxi driver on the 2012-13 and MO bus driver in 2018-19.
He is idle now.
Precautions have registered a case against Rama Chandra in 2011 for conducting illegal settlement of valuable land and issuing an electricity and other cases in 2018 because of illegal repentance of agricultural land for agricultural purposes.
